————-Easy chicken biryani————– ———(In a pressure cooker)—————-
Onions – 3medium, finely chopped Tomatoes – 2 medium, chopped Ginger-garlic-G.Chilly paste – 3tbsp
yogurt – 3 tbsp
Mint Leaves- 3springs
Coriander Leaves- 3springs
Red Chili Powder – 2tbsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Garam Masala – 1Tbsp
Salt – To taste
Chicken – 1 kilogram, washed and cleaned
Oil to fry
Jeerakasala rice – 3cups(1Kg),washed and drained
Hot Water – 6 cups
Ghee – 4 tbsp
Marinate chicken with redchilly powder, turmeric, salt. Shallow fry the chicken, keep it aside.

Now we have to make the chicken gravy, add the chopped onions to the ghee heated in pressure cooker and sauté it till it turns golden brown. Add the ginger-garlic and green chilies paste and sauté for a minute. Add the tomatoes and cook till they are soft. Add the garam masala and some salt. Give it a quick stir. The oil will begin to separate. Now add in the chicken and thick yogurt and mix it nicely. Cover the cooker with a lid and let the chicken cook for 5 to 10minutes. The chicken will absorb the flavors. Remove the lid and add mint, coriander leaves and rice and give it a nice stir. Let the rice coat in the spices and take their color. Try not to break the rice grains or the chicken. Continue toasting the rice on medium flame for 5 to 6 minutes.Now pour the hot water and adjust the salt. We might need to adjust the amount of water depending upon our pressure cooker. Now put the lid back on and cook the biryani till 2 whistles. Turn of the flame and let the pressure release on its own. Serve the biryani in the serving dish.
